Deal Alert: New York to California From $216 Round-Trip

Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using the American Express Platinum Card, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

Last week, JetBlue was offering fantastic prices on transcontinental flights from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO). Now, other airlines are getting in on this low-fare fun, offering round-trip tickets from just $ 216 round-trip. If you’re looking to do an end-of-year mileage run to push yourself over the threshold for a certain elite status, this is definitely a no-brainer! However, these fares seem to only be available on certain days in early December, so you’ll have to have some flexibility in order to take advantage of this deal.
